A warm welcome

Since childhood, I have always loved reading, telling and writing stories. When time allowed, I enjoyed some hanging-onto-the-barrier-for-dear-life ice skating too.

Then in October 2012, I decided to step away from the comfort zone of the barrier and take trepid steps into the world of figure skating. At 32 years old, I am still very much at the beginning of my ‘Skate UK’ journey and would like to share my stories along the way.

Ice skating is not just for Winter, as I believed; it is very much a sport to be enjoyed all year around. If you are not yet involved in figure skating, it is never too late to begin. As you can see, I have only just begun skating in my early thirties, yet I am still around to tell the tales.

Please see my ‘UK ice rinks’ tab and contact your nearest rink to register on the Skate UK programme.

I would love to hear your stories, so please feel free to share.

Thanks for visiting and happy skating.

It is important for skaters of all ages to learn the basics so they can enjoy the sport safely. It can also lead into a hobby that may turn into something more! It is great socially all ages mixing together and having fun whilst exercising and learning a skill.
